Brussels, 11/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Commission intends to put forward a legislative proposal by the end of 2006 for modernising the rules on value added tax (VAT) applicable to financial services and insurance. It highlights that the large number of cases brought before the European Court of Justice in recent years makes it imperative that European legislation be modernised.
