Brussels, 24/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 19 April, the European Parliament transport committee held a public hearing on the Naiade Community programme which seeks to enhance the use of inland waterways within the European Union. MEPs generally supported this initiative, although some issues were raised, notably on the funding of measures suggested to help the sector.
