Belgian regulator calls for break-up of some Suez and GDF assets

Brussels, 23/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, concerns were expressed over the effect of the proposed merger of Gaz de France (GDF) and Suez on the Belgian electricity market. Speaking at the hearing on the proposed merger between the two French companies, organised by the Belgian Senate, the President of the Belgian Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission confirmed that there were competition problems for the Belgian market.
