Peter Hustinx generally satisfied with security in Eurodac central unit

Brussels, 14/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - Following his first inspection of the EURODAC central unit, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), Peter Hustinx, presented a report in which he states he is “generally satisfied” with the level of security. Mr Hustinx says in a press release dated 9 March that the Eurodac system is a “key feature in the procedure for everyone seeking asylum in the EU” and whose fingerprints are taken.
