Parliament indignant at destruction of Armenian cemetery of Djulfa

Strasbourg, 17/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the EP adopted a resolution from the EPP-ED, PES, ALDE, Greens/EFA, GUE/NGL and UEN groups condemning the destruction last December of the Armenian cemetery of Djulfa in Azerbaijan, and other historic sites on Armenian and Azeri soil, and asked the Azerbaijan to authorise a delegation of MEPs and missions dedicated to surveying and protecting the archaeological heritage to visit the site at Djulfa.
