Strasburg, 15/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 14 February, the European Parliament approved, with a few amendments, the regulation on a 3-year fishing agreement signed between the EU and the Salomon Islands (see EUROPE 9021 on the European Commission's proposal). The agreement offers fishing possibilities to four purse seine netters (3 Spanish and 1 French) and ten surface longliners (6 Spanish and 4 Portuguese) for a reference tonnage 6000 tonnes.
