European Sea Ports Organisation calls on Commission to draft White Paper on port policy

Brussels, 19/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) and the European Community's Shipowners' Associations (ECSA) deplored the European Parliament's rejection of the proposal for a directive to liberalise port services within the EU (EUROPE 9112). “We do not consider this as a day of victory as we were never against the idea of an instrument on port services as such”, ESPO President Giuliano Gallanti says in a press release.
