US chipmaker TEXAS INSTRUMENTS is to sell its sensors and controls business to BAIN CAPITAL, a private equity company, for USD 3 bn in cash. BAIN CAPITAL has a workforce of 5400 and had a turnover of USD 1.13 bn in 2004.
