10/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN) states in a press release that it is “deeply worried about acts of vandalism committed against the property of its president, Kamel Jendoubi”, who is of Tunisian nationality but banned from residing in his country since 1994 and deprived of his passport. Mr Jendoubi, who lives in Paris where he is an active opponent of the regime in power in Tunisia, saw his vehicle deliberately broken into by unknown persons in the underground parking area of his place of work. Two days prior to this, the same vehicle had been broken open and a micro-computer stolen, the EMHRN notes, saying it fears such acts of vandalism against Kamel Jendoubi are linked to his human rights activities.
