10/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Eurydice, the information network on education in Europe, has published a new edition of the European Glossary on Education, published for the first time in 2000. This reference tool of terminology aimed to facilitate the understanding of concepts used in European educational systems includes 670 national terms used in 30 countries covered by the Eurydice network. Two methods of research are foreseen: - by alphabetical order of national terms or by an overall view of terms used in any specific educational system. The glossary specifies the country where each term is used, the educational level to which it refers and the information needed for its understanding. The explanatory note specifies, moreover, the characteristics of the teaching establishment organisation (age and conditions for admission, types and duration of programmes offered), the qualifications that it delivers as well as its legal status and its methods of financing.
