THE DAY IN POLITICS / (eu) eu/future of europe/federalists

02/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Citizens Convention on the future of Europe organised by the Movimento federalista europeo (MFE, Italian federalist movement founded in 1943 by anti-fascists led by Altiero Spinelli) will be held in Genoa on 2/3 December, chaired by Mercedes Bresso, President of UEF (Union of European Federalists) and the region of Piedmont, and Guido Montani, President of MFE. Participants include MEPs Andrew Duff, Johannes Voggenhuber, Monica Frassoni, Jo Leinen, Mario Mauro, Patrizia Toia, Marta Vincenzi and Roberto Musacchio, Bruno Boissiere, secretary of the European Constitution Intergroup at the EP, and Pier Virgilio Dastoli, Director of the European Commission's Representation in Italy. A European Manifesto will be adopted.
