Ahead of second reading on budget 2006, Council to seek agreement with Parliament on volume of payment credits and funding methods for EU external actions

Brussels, 23/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The EU's Economics and Finance ministers, meeting to discuss the budget, will attempt on 24 November to arrive at an agreement in second reading on the draft budget 2006. The Council will attempt, before that, to overcome the differences which exist between it and the European Parliament on the volume of payment credits and funding methods for certain EU external actions (Iraq, the Asian countries which were victims of the tsunami, compensation to ACP...
