Presidents Barroso and Straub sign new cooperation protocol, set to be more political

Brussels, 23/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - At the plenary session of the Committee of the Regions (CoR), the Presidents of the Commission, José Manuel Barroso, and of the CoR, Peter Straub, signed an updated cooperation protocol on 17 November, which emphasises the need to reinforce institutional links and the role played by the members of the Committee in the Community legislative process and as ambassadors for EU policy as it relates to the local area.
