Brussels, 17/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Council this week adopted a regulation amending Regulation 2007/2000 on exceptional trade measures for countries and territories participating in or linked to the EU's stabilisation and association process in the Western Balkans, namely Albania, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Bosnia Herzegovina, and Serbia and Montenegro. The Council did not only extend the regulation, but also modified the text to reflect the new situation concerning import conditions for textiles from Montenegro and Kosovo, further to the signature of a bilateral agreement in trade in textiles between the EU and Serbia on 31 March 2005. The regulation takes into account the change of name of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to Serbia and Montenegro, as well as the fact that the Republic of Montenegro, the Republic of Serbia and Kosovo each constitute a separate customs territory.
