Uninvited EP delegation goes to Egypt to observe first leg of general elections

Brussels, 09/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - A delegation of four MEPs has gone to Egypt to witness the first leg of general elections on 9 November (the third leg of the elections is being held in early December). This is the first time the European Parliament is sending a delegation to witness elections without actually being invited to do so. There will be no other international delegations present in Egypt, as the Egyptian government has refused any international observation of the elections....
