Formal EU-United States aviation negotiations start up again

Brussels, 12/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - Following a telephone call on Monday from United States Secretary of State for Transport, Norman Mineta, with the Vice-President of the European Commission with responsibility for transport, Jacques Barrot, both sides agreed to formally re-launch negotiations in Brussels on 17 October to strike the first agreement on aviation services. Commission Barrot was mandated by the EU's transport ministers at their Council meeting on 6 October (see Europe 9044)...
