Brussels, 20/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - During a meeting in Vienna at the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) conference on 19-20 September on increasing short term oil production, Andris Piebalgs, the Commissioner for energy and the president of the cartel, Ahmed Fahad Al-Sabah from Kuwait confirmed the EU/OPEC round table meeting on 21 November in Brussels or Vienna as part of strengthened bilateral dialogue. Representatives from the Union and OPEC met for the first time at a ministerial level on 9 June (EUROPE 8965). Following their meeting on 9 September (EUROPE 9024), experts from Member States of the Oil Supply Group and DG Energy at the European Commission will meet on 21 September to discuss the situation on the oil markets and to check on the security of current oil stock levels in Member States.
