Commission proposes new customs duty of 187 EUR per tonne for imports of bananas

Brussels, 12/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 12 September, the European Commission adopted a new proposed regulation setting the level of customs duty applicable to imports of bananas from third countries into the European Union at 187 EUR per tonne (see EUROPE 9022 and 9014). The Member States of the EU must adopt this regulation before the new customs duty is officially notified to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
