12/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - Former Czech Commissioner Pavel Telicka, appointed European Coordinator for the Rail Baltica priority project on 20 July 2005 (see EUROPE 8994), visited Vilnius on 12/13 September and will be in Riga on 14/15 September before travelling to Estonia and Finland later in the month. The feasibility study for the Rail Baltica project is being carried out at the moment and Telicka wants to establish initial contact with the relevant ministers (transport, finance and regional development), experts and rail industry representatives. The Rail Baltica route, linking Tallinn with Warsaw via Riga and Kaunus, will link the three Baltic States with the rest of Europe.
