Brussels, 12/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Bureau of the Assembly of European Regions (AER) will be meeting in Trieste (Italy) on 12 September, chaired by Riccardo Illy, AER President and President of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Alessandro Tesini, President of the Regional Council of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Bureau will discuss current key European issues and their implications at regional level. The agenda will include the European Commission's highly controversial planned reforms of state aid aiming to review the distribution of regional state aid for the Financial Perspectives 2007-2013. The participants include Peter Straub, president of the Committee of the Regions and President of the Land Baden-Wurttemberg in Germany; Ivan Jakovic, President of the Istria region of Croatia; and Johanna Miklleitner, Governor of the Land of lower Austria.
