Brussels, 31/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - European External Relations and EU Neighbourhood Policy Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner will visit Afghanistan on 4-5 September, to confirm the European Commission's support for transition and the reconstruction of the country, ahead of the general and provincial elections of 18 September, explains a press release. Ferrero-Waldner will visit Kabul and meet President Karzai, and also the North-East, where she will examine preparedness for the elections and the activities of the European election observer mission.
