05/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - Geoffrey Podger has been appointed Chief Executive of the British Health and Safety Executive (HSE). He will take up his post on 28 November. HSE covers a large number of issues ranging from health and safety at work to nuclear security. Mr Podger became the first Executive Director of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on 1 February 2003. The European Commission will soon be launching the selection process to find a replacement for his post.
