05/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed “sadness” on Thursday at the remarks by his French counterpart, Dominique de Villepin, who demanded that Cyprus be recognised if membership talks are to begin (EUROPE 9003). He said they were saddened by the French Prime Minister's declaration and added that it is out of the question for them to discuss or even envisage any new conditions in the run up to 3 October.
