Commission makes EUR 3.5 million available for helping Central Asian populations prepare for and respond to natural disasters

Brussels, 05/08/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to make EUR 3.5 million available for continuing its natural disaster relief and prevention activities in Central Asia as part of the DIPECHO programme. The funding, which comes from the budget of ECHO, the Commission's humanitarian aid service, will finance intervention allowing local communities to assess the dangers prevailing in regions recognised as the most vulnerable when it comes to natural disasters (most of...
