Brussels, 25/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 15 June, António Guterres, the former Portuguese Prime Minister, became the new High Representative of the United Nations for Refugees, after the controversial resignation of Ruud Lubbers, the former Dutch Prime Minister. Accepting his new responsibilities, Mr Guterres said that he was joining the UN "with conviction, humility and enthusiasm".
