Public hearing on freedom of speech and parliamentary democracy

Brussels, 20/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on 23 June, Josep Borrell, President of the European Parliament (and chair of the EuroMed Assembly for a year) will make the opening speech at a public hearing on 'Freedom of Expression and the Development of Parliamentary Democracy in the EuroMed Region' organised by the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee (chaired by Elmar Brok, EPP-ED, Germany) and Human Rights Subcommittee (chaired by French Green MEP Helene Flautre).
