03/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to allocate two million EUR of emergency humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka. The funds, which will come from the ECHO budget, are intended to: - help new returnees to restart their livelihood after having been displaced to the North of the country; - finance aid to vulnerable displaced people living in welfare centres; - provide nutritional support to women and children exiled to refugee camps in Tamil Nadu in India.
