Brussels, 02/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - MEP Johan Van Hecke (ALDe, Belgium) heads the EU Election Observation Mission (EOM) for the presidential election scheduled for 19 June in Guinea Bissau, marking the end of the transition period agreed by the political parties after the coup d'état in September 2003, a press release states (recalling that the MEP had already headed an EU observation mission during parliamentary and presidential elections in Sierra Leone in 2002).
