Commission against milk sector export discounts

Brussels, 31/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is not in favour of adopting measures for adopting milk market support measures. At the Agriculture-Fisheries Council on 30 May, Ireland mentioned the difficulties dairy markets are currently experiencing. This Member State, supported by the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Austria, Hungary, Lithuania and Poland consider that export discounts are needed to enable the industry consolidate its market share at a time of falling...
