29/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - Former President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (who chaired the Convention that drafted the European Constitution) said on Wednesday that he believed the yes vote would win in the French referendum on 29 May. I can announce the result, he said, and the result will be yes by quite a wide margin. I'd say 53%, he added, speaking at an Ipsos forum, according to reports in Le Figaro. Le Figaro reports that guides to the Constitutional Treaty are currently at the top of the bestsellers charts in France, following hot on the heels of the novels 'Anges et demons' and the 'Da Vinci Code'. Four guides, costing between 1.5 and 5.9 euros, are among the top seven selling books. More than half a million guides have already been sold. 'La Constitution européenne' by Olivier Duhamel published by Colin has beaten all records, selling at 6500 copies a day (source: Ipsos/Livres Hebdo).
