Brussels, 14/04/2005 (Agence Europe) - At the conclusion of an informal ministerial conference on health in Paris, the Commissioner for Health, Markos Kyprianou and the European health ministers launched an appeal on 14 April for a new “Cancer Alliance” (a network of institutes to fight the disease, with an information pool and good practice in terms of prevention, screening and medical treatment). Mr Kyprianou said: “by working together, the EU can add value to Member States' efforts to improve public health. The moves agreed today make huge strides towards out common goal of securing protection for everyone at risk”.
