The Swedish TETRA LAVAL group (turnover EUR 9 bn with a workforce of 29,500) will be taking over the Italian companies SIMONAZZI and ALFA (SIG group). These two companies employ 1500 workers and had a total turnover of EUR 320 millions in 2004. They will merge into a single group with SIDEL the French subsidiary of TETRA LAVAL, which obtained a turnover of EUR 825 million last year.
