10/03/2005 (Agence Europe) - MEPs Werner Langen (CDU) and Joachim Wuermeling (CSU) underlined in a press release that in connection with the recent developments on the “services directive” case (EUROPE yesterday p 10 on the declarations by Commissioner McCreevy), there is “no fundamental disagreement” among CDU/CSU MEPs on the approach to follow on this controversial affair. They believe that such a complicated case requires intense discussion, without useless pressure to hurry it along. They provided assurances that for them and their colleagues, the starting point was their document proposing the drawing up of a “positive list” of services that should governed by the principle of the country of origin (EUROPE 4 March p 11).
