Brussels, 14/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - At its meeting in Paris on 9-11 February, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), for the first time, invited China to become an observer. The commitment by the Chinese authorities to implement the FATF recommendations on money laundering and funding for terrorism, as well as a mutual evaluation in this area, prompted the invitation. If this evaluation is positive, China could become a full member of FATF.
