Ministers to examine proposal on aviation fuel tax to fund development aid - Commission limited to drawing up inventory of possible instruments

Brussels, 14/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - The EU Finance Ministers will tackle the possibility of taxing aviation fuel as a source of alternative financing for development aid on Thursday. Germany and France, who want to implement this measure to fund a pilot vaccination scheme in developing countries, could receive support from several Member States, but probably not from all of them. The Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker indicated following the meeting of the G7 Finance Ministers...
