01/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - The ephemeral Head of the “medicines” at the European Commission, who succeeded Philippe Brunet when he joined the cabinet of Commissioner Kyprianou - Clara Martinez Alberola, started work on 1 February at the cabinet of president José Manuel Barroso. Nils Behrndt takes over from Clara Martinez at the directorate where the reigns have been in the hands of Georgette Lalis since the beginning of the year. Paul Weissenberg, Ms Lalis' predecessor, goes from the pharmaceutical sector to space and defence, becoming the new director for aerospace, defence, security and equipments at Commissioner Verheugen's Directorate General “Enterprise and Industry”.
