Swedish companies BONNIER and PROVENTUS INDUSTRIER, which hold 48.4% of Finland's ALMA MEDIA, joined forces to increase their stake and thwart the takeover bid by Norway's SCHIBSTED. ALMA MEDIA immediately accepted the bid of EUR 14 per series I share (SCHIBSTED was offering EUR 11.40 per share). BONNIER and PROVENTUS set up a joint venture, ALMANOVA, for the purposes of this deal.
