In Germany, KARSTADTQUELLE (EUR 10.08 bn turnover in first nine months of 2004) has sold parts of its logistics operations to DEUTSCHE POST for EYR 200 mil. The deal covers two businesses, the in-house logistics of KARSTADTQUELLE department stores and the mail order business, QUELLE and NECKERMANN. Together, the two units have an annual return of EUR 530 mil for a workforce of 3650.
