European Council to decide on date and outcome of negotiations - Mr Erdogan comes to Brussels

Brussels, 13/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The diplomatic manoeuvring will be intense, between now and the opening of the European Council on Thursday evening, to finalise the text of the conclusions on opening accession negotiations with Turkey. As anticipated, the General Affairs Council failed to reach agreement on Monday on the most important issues- the outcome of negotiations, date, Cyprus- and did not even discuss the first two officially.
