10/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - With a view to the EU-Israel Association Council on 13 December, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network has published a report entitled "A Human Rights Review on the EU and Israel", in which it states that the EU in its relations with Israel the EU "facilitates" Israeli human rights violations and "thereby disrespects its own human rights obligations and commitments". According to the EMHRN, the EU should in particular "urge Israel to accept the creation of a joint EU-Israel Committee on Human Rights in the framework of the association agreement" and ensure that "entities from illegal settlements do not participate in any EU-Israel cooperation", particularly in scientific and technical research.
