Advocate general Geelhoed indicates that court can impose fine and penalty on Member States persistently breaching Community law

Luxembourg, 18/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - For the second time Advocate General Geelhoed has explained that the Court had the right to impose fines on Member States, France, in cases of "structural or persistent infringements to Community law". This amount can be added to the daily penalty requested by the Commission.
