Social Platform criticises Kok report's neglect of social cohesion - In favour of open debate with civil society before 2005 Spring Summit

Brussels, 17/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - Although it is well balanced, the report by the Kok Group on the mid-term review of the Lisbon Strategy neglects social cohesion. This is the view of the Platform of European Social NGOs, which feels that the report also fails to reflect the need for "more and better jobs, focusing only on creating more employment". The Platform also calls for an open debate, including all parts of organised civil society, to precede the 2005 Spring Summit.
