Brussels, 05/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The annual EU/India Summit to be held on 8 November, in The Hague, is to endorse the Strategic Partnership proposed by the European Union in New Delhi, and to propose an action plan for its implementation (on the subject of the European Commission proposal, see EUROPE of 17 June, p.15, and on India's reaction, EUROPE of 21 September, p.13). The summit will take place under the chairmanship of Jan Peter Balkenende, President of the European Council, and Bernard Bot, Council President, in the presence of High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, and, on behalf of the European Commission, outgoing President Romano Prodi and the (outgoing) Commissioner for Trade, Pascal Lamy. India will be represented by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and by Foreign Minister Natwar Singh and Trade Minister Kamal Nath.
