29/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - In Berlin on 4 November, the Council of Europe is organising a seminar on the establishment of a centre to mark the memory of European nations under the auspices of the European Council. In a press release, the Council of Europe explains that the seminar is partly being organised in response to the debate in Germany surrounding the establishment of a centre against deportations in Berlin. The seminar will focus on deportations of Germans from central Europe, forced migration in the Soviet Union and the Baltic States in the 1930s and 1940s, and the deportation of Jews and other victims of the Second World War, explains a press release.
