EU rejects US unilateral withdrawal from 1992 agreement on Airbus and Boeing aid - Agreement continues to apply

Brussels, 08/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission notified the US authorities by verbal note that the European Union rejects the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the 1992 agreement on a framework for subsidies to their respective aeronautics industries. The EU considers the reasons invoked by Washington to justify this withdrawal are "groundless and unsubstantiated", mainly the affirmation that the EU did not comply with the provisions of the agreement....
