Brussels, 05/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - On the eve of the "European Congress of Agriculture" on Tuesday and Wednesday in Brussels, the European Confederation of Agriculture (ECA) has announced the integration of its activities into the Committee of Agricultural Organisations in the EU (Copa) and the General Committee of Agricultural Co-operatives of the EU (Cogeca). This merger will allow members of the ECA, particularly the agricultural organisations of Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey to join Copa and Cogeca as partner organisations hence constituting all together a large family in European agriculture and within its co-operatives, explained the ECA in a press release published on Monday. The ECA was founded in October 1948 in Brougg (Switzerland). It will bring together up to 300 organisation members from throughout Europe.
