23/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Quartet for the Middle East (EU, UN, USA and Russia) at the end of a meeting in New York on 22 September reaffirmed its 4 May declaration, according to a press statement underlining that the situation on the ground remained extremely difficult for both Palestinians and Israelis. It also said that no significant progress had been made in the context of the Road Map for the peace process. EUROPE will be returning to this press statement.
