23/09/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Kangaroo Group, presided by CDU MEP Karl von Wogau has made a rather amusing criticism of the restrictions imposed on the free movement of labour in the enlarged EU. In the group's September publication, the “Kangaroo” spoke out itself and pointed out that it had taken the name in the hope of being able to "jump unhindered over borders in the whole region covered by your bible, the Treaty of Rome…As I am curious by nature…I decided to visit your new Eastern Member States…the result is, that I am now told to stay where I am". This is the observation made by the opponents of borders' mascot. the Kangaroo also complains that, "in this larger market I am allowed to send parcels across borders…and nobody stops me from sending my meagre savings from one side to the other…I could cross borders from East to West just for amusement but I am not allowed to leap over the border and do honest work…Goods, services, capital, ok. Come in. but you, please avoid an honest job and wait until I usher you in, in two, five or seven years' time".
