23/08/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 19 August, the President of the Council of the EU, Berhard Bot, welcomed the successful outcome of the Iraq National Conference and the move in the direction of elections in 2005. The Dutch foreign minister condemned terrorist acts and expressed concern at the continuation of violence, but hoped the decisions made by the National Council would help improve the security situation in the country.
