Commission refuses to comment on Monti's possible departure to become new Economy Minister in Rome

Brussels, 05/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the European Commission refused to comment on the possibility that Mario Monti (Competition Commissioner) might leave to become Economy Minister in the Italian government under Silvio Berlusconi, after Giulio Tremonti's resignation this weekend.
